The idea of making a meaningful contribution to society and a passion for photography congregated in Daniel Etter’s decision to become a documentary photographer. In 2005 he moved to New York to get an insight view of the world of photojournalism while interning at Black Star. Naivety dwindled and belief grew. Since than he has been working on numerous personal projects.

Daniel Etter is a recent graduate of the German School of Journalism and holds a master’s degree in political science. In 2006 he was awarded with the Award of Excellence of the Alexia Foundation and received a honorable mention at the International Photography Awards. He interned with James Nachtwey, VII and Black Star and participated in the Eddie Adams Workshop. His work has appeared in Neon, Galore, Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Rundschau, Tagesspiegel and various others.
